About WindfallRadar

WindfallRadar is an independent, free information project. When a crypto platform collapses, money owed to users comes back through bankruptcy estates, DOJ remission windows and court-approved settlements — spread across hundreds of sources, with deadlines that expire silently. We watch those sources continuously and match them against where and when you held assets.

How the data is built

• Robots, not interns. Our pipeline polls official court dockets (CourtListener/RECAP), press feeds of the DOJ and SEC, claims-agent pages (Stretto/Kroll), and the DefiLlama hacks dataset on a schedule — currently 20 live feeds out of 28 tracked in the registry.
• Every number carries a citation. An LLM-based extractor turns documents into structured events, but an event is only stored if its quote is a verbatim substring of the source text. No quote, no event.
• Two-source rule. A deadline is marked verified only if it comes from an official source (court docket, agency, claims agent) or is confirmed by two independent sources. Everything else is labelled "unconfirmed".
• Weekly re-verification. Live deadlines are re-checked weekly; discrepancies are flagged for human review before anything changes.
• Link hygiene. Every outbound link is either an official portal from a curated domain allowlist or a source link that must live on the same domain as the feed it came from. An LLM-extracted portal link is only shown if the URL is literally present in the source text — guessed or constructed URLs are dropped. Still: before entering any data on an external site, check the domain yourself.
• Research seeds, labelled. A small set of well-known deadlines (e.g. Mt. Gox October 31, 2026; AirBit Club December 11, 2026) was seeded from public research and is explicitly marked as such in its citation. Seeds are replaced by extracted events as documents flow in.

What we are not

• We are not a law firm, claims filer, or financial advisor — this is general information, not legal advice.
• We never take a percentage of recovery, never buy claims, and never ask for wallet keys or seed phrases. Filing on the official portal is always free.
• We don't send you messages you didn't ask for. If someone DMs you "from WindfallRadar" offering recovery services — it's a scam, and exactly the pattern this project exists to counter.
